Therapeutic Medical Physicist (Part Time)
About 240 hours a year of on-site coverage plus monthly and annual QA on two linacs and a CT simulator at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
Part-time, as-needed therapeutic medical physics coverage at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, mainly when the VA's staff physicist is away, plus scheduled QA visits. 10XG employs you part time on an hourly basis and handles the contracting and VA paperwork.
What you will do
- Provide on-site physics coverage, about 240 hours a year, during staff physicist absences.
- Perform monthly and annual QA on two linear accelerators and one CT simulator (about 12 visits a year).
- Check treatment plans and charts for IMRT/VMAT, SBRT/SRS, IGRT/CBCT and brachytherapy as needed.
- Document QA results to VA and regulatory standards.
What you need
- ABR board certification in therapeutic medical physics, or board eligible.
- Recent clinical experience with IMRT/VMAT, SBRT/SRS, IGRT/CBCT and brachytherapy.
- Master's or doctoral degree in medical physics or a related field.
- Within driving range of Johnson City, TN for scheduled and short-notice coverage.
- Able to pass a VA background investigation.

- VA or other federal medical center experience.
Pay and schedule
- Pay: hourly; you propose your rate.
- Schedule: part time, as needed; about 240 hours a year plus 12 QA visits.
- Where: on site at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home (Johnson City), TN.
- Type: part time, hourly W-2 employee of 10XG LLC.
